I'm going to try to get some modeled pictures before we leave on Friday, but I thought I'd give you guys a peak at my finished Surf to Summit top, just because I teased you about it last night/very early this morning.
It turned out really good - I can't believe I sewed it. I mean, there's some issues with the neckline entirely related to my less than stellar finishing technique, and I think I need to take in the waist a bit on the back, but it's pretty fantastic as is. I definitely want to make up more of these for running and possibly casual wear.
I'm not done sewing today - I'm hoping to get a Moneta dress sewn up this evening. It's all cut out and ready to go, and I can't imagine that it'll take more than a few hours.
Although after my shouting match with the collar of my top, I think I should take a little break first.
It looks freaking awesome!! I wore mine just yesterday for a swim, so much nicer than sunburn or a tshirt!
ReplyDeleteHey thanks! It was yours that made me think of doing a swim top. I didn't even realize it was the same pattern until I started to cut it out last night. :)
DeleteThat looks really professional. Love your colour choices
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks! I think it looks super slick too (so long as you don't look too closely at the collar haha oops!). I think it's the shiny and bright fabric. And the fantastic pattern, of course. :)
DeleteWoohoo. I love the idea of you going on holiday with your makes and getting a wee kick when you put them on. Such a lovely feeling!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I felt that way last time with my bikini, but it's going to be pretty neat this time with several makes under my belt. :) Thanks!
DeleteWow, that looks fantastic. I love that fabric. You'll be seen coming a mile away!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm a little worried about that, actually. I mean, I'm going to be in the ocean/sea, and this is a common colour used in fishing lures...
DeleteI always end up laughing when I visit your blog - I am just imagining every fish for miles making a beeline towards you :). Its really smart though, and I don't think anyone will notice the imperfections - I read something last night about the three foot rule - if you can't see it from there, don't worry. And with such a lot of eye distraction going on, no-one will notice. You will just look great.
ReplyDeleteI like that rule, it's a good rule! The collar looks fine on me (other than a bit of bunching on the sides, but my "understitching" makes it look very Homemade. That's the only clue though, so I'm fine with it.
DeleteAlso yes, I think I will be luring in the fish. I just hope it's cute little colourful fish and not big hungry toothy fish! :D
